Rev. Rebekah Abel Lamar has served as Senior Pastor since July 2019. A native of Southwest Virginia, Rebekah is a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA, and completed her Master of Divinity degree at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She previously served Idlewild Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN and Decatur Presbyterian Church in Decatur, GA.
Following GSPC's long history of being "called to serve," Rebekah understands a pastor's ministry is not only within the congregation but also in the community. She currently serves a board member for Mobile Area Interfaith Conference (MAIC) and Housing First, Inc. Rebekah is married to Ashley Lamar, a high school math teacher at St. Paul's Episcopal School. They are proud and busy parents of Sam, Ann Thomas, and James.
